Shark teammate, Liz Jackson (a.k.a. “Lizard” among family and friends) was thrilled in early fall to learn that she had been awarded a leading role in a new family film, “Alabama Moon.”  The movie is expected to be released in early 2009.  Liz’s co-stars include Jimmy Bennett (Evan Almighty and Daddy Daycare) and John Goodman (Roseanne).  Liz began filming on November 7th in Covington, Louisiana.  Alabama Moon’s director is Tim McCanlies, author and director of “Secondhand Lions” and writer of several episodes of “Smallville.”

Liz, 14, is a freshman at Kempner High School who has been acting on stage since the age of nine, mostly with the Fort Bend Theatre.  Alabama Moon marks the beginning of her career as a movie actress.  Liz is also a talented soprano, as we all know from listening to her sing a flawless “Star Spangled Banner” at our home swim meets.

Besides acting and singing, Liz plays flute in the Kempner Marching Cougar Band and swims for the Cougars.  She has also been a member of First Colony Swim Team as a USA competitive swimmer.

Liz, your fellow Sharks wish you all the best!  WE ARE PROUD OF YOU!
